Inserting a SID or ECW file in Civil 3D/Map 3D when it is not an option

There are one of 2 things happening:
1.) Ensure you are using the correct command. It's a Map 3D command so a normal image insert does not have this option. The Map 3D command is MAPIINSERT

2.) Do you have the raster Design Object Enabler installed? This is required to give us this support. You must download and install this free add-on from the Autodesk website.
Civil 3D -

Map 3D -

After downloading close all versions of AutoCADDouble click on the file you downloaded and follow the prompts. As with any Autodesk install you must have Virus
Scan disabled and must have administrative rights. During the install only.

Happy Thanksgiving! Holidays are upon us

I want to wish everyone a happy and relaxing Thanksgiving. We have been very busy in the support world and are looking forward to a nice break. We will be back on Monday bright eyed and ready to help!

I wanted a way to show how amazing our new combined organization is, the depth and breadth of technical knowledge is just blowing me away. And you don't have to take my word for it, read the blog post from expert Joe Eichenseer.

As a way of showcasing our newly expanded technical expertise as well as giving you a gift this holiday season, we've put together a series of minicasts (that's a fancy marketing term for 30-minute webcast) on the various "flavors" of Revit.

Our experts will be showing best practices and their favorite tips for:

Revit Architecture (November 17)

Revit MEP (December 7)

Revit Structure (January 11)

Sign up for this great series and see what all the buzz is about.

Now back to your regularly scheduled, informative blog.
