Where can I go to get information about...

There are so many different sources of information out there and it makes it difficult to determine which website to access or where to call for a particular need.

Here's a quick cheat-sheet I use to help you get the information you need.

Autodesk Activations:
To help you activate your standalone license, or to get a network license file, call Autodesk at 800-551-1490 or create an account and login to:


Autodesk Service Packs/Updates and Hotfixes:
Is your Autodesk program on the latest version or do you need to install updates/service packs or hotfixes? When you click the link you'll need to select your product from the "Select a Product" dropdown list on the left under "Knowledge Base..."


Autodesk Business Center (ABC):
To help you understand what your serial number is (standalone/network/multi-seat standalone), how many seats you have or other general questions about your software.

Autodesk Certified graphics cards/drivers:
Is your graphics card certified by Autodesk? is the driver version supported and recommended?

Autodesk Search for Technical Solutions (TS):
The best way to search for the answers to your issues is to use the generic search tool and uncheck the option for "Products, Solutions, Services and Company Information" then key in your few key words and click search:


Avatech Webex:
At times we may need to see your system to tweak it, do a file transfer, or otherwise share desktops for training, etc. We use Webex for our desktop sharing and training.


Autodesk Subscription:
If you have not purchased phone support through Avatech but you are on subscription with Autodesk, then you can submit your issues using the Web Based support method. You can also download some "Subscription Packs" that are add-on/add-in utilities from the website or download the latest version of the programs.


Avatech Client Portal:
Designed as a destination exclusively for Avatech’s Autodesk Subscription or Support clients, the Client Portal provides instant access to information, software, and services of special interest to Avatech clients.

The Portal currently enables Subscription clients to download and get authorization codes for various software packages that dramatically streamline workflow by automating tedious and repetitive tasks. Support clients have access to submit and manage technical issues.

Plans for expansion of the portal include more free software downloads, on-demand learning, product tips, links, special offers and promotions, communities, and more.


Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:
This is very useful when you are unable to reinstall, install or uninstall your Windows program. Select the link to get to the Microsoft Knowledge Base article and download the utility.


Avatech Support Blog:
If you are reading this, you don't need the support blog link, but I refer people here every week, you can too with this link.
